Hey there dearest reader,
As we step into this New Moon in Aquarius and the Lunar New Year, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to clear away the old and start fresh — planting seeds on land that feels truly mine.
I’m slowly divesting from Meta-platforms, having deleted 3 out of my 5 Instagram accounts (including my cat Monster’s IG), and The Unseen Realm Facebook Page last night.
A week or so ago, I launched The Unseen Realm Blog, hosted on my on domain: https://blog.theunseenrealm.ca
With all of the uncertainty around social media and the changes to come (along with those that are already in place from Meta specifically*), it felt like building a home on someone else’s land, only to realize that I’ve outgrown the foundation because it was never truly mine.
*If you haven’t heard: alongside the announcement that Meta was ending its relationship with independent fact-checkers, they also outlined new “hateful conduct” policies. These policies explicitly permit users to call LGBTQ+ people “mentally ill” or “abnormal” without violating platform rules.
This is chilling, considering it was only back in 1990 that the WHO declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder, and 1987 when the DSM had it reclassified… despite civil rights movements as early as the 1960’s campaigning to remove the disorder classification.
This new blog — being a space I’ve created outside the noise of social platforms, free from algorithms and expectations — feels like an extension of reclaiming my own foundation, both energetically and practically.
Not to mention, it’s peak millennial, as my partner pointed out to me this morning.
Building a home on someone else’s land (whether a digital space or the subconscious patterns we inherit) can only take us so far. It’s when we plant roots in our own soil that true growth happens.
As I reflect on this idea of rooting into my own truth, I’ve also decided it’s time to intentionally explore another area of my life that feels like borrowed land: my relationship with food.
This is a big one, and exploration that I’ve been avoiding… because it is big, and there is some overwhelm behind undertaking this.
But beneath the surface, I’m know there’s patterns, beliefs, and conditioning that have shaped my relationship to food, and my disordered eating (ARFID). This process feels deeply personal yet universal — a reminder of how much we carry that isn’t ours and how much freedom comes from choosing what is.
For so long, my relationship with food has felt tangled in stories I didn’t consciously choose — stories about worthiness, control, and of course survival. This journey isn’t just about the physical act of eating; it’s about unlearning what no longer serves me and finding new ways to nourish my body and soul.
But I had a thought after a post on Threads about what others eat between ‘“safe foods” (a common term among many neurodivergent folks) went micro-viral…
What if I documented this exploration of conscious self-discovery? What if I showed my work on this one? What if my process could serve as a blueprint to the conscious self-discovery framework? Might I even inspire others to explore their relationship with food, and reflect on their own subconscious hooks through intaking my personal exploration?
This topic, while large, didn’t feel overly vulnerable or too personal to dive into publicly, so, I’ll be sharing more about this journey — and so much more — on the blog. If you’d like to follow along or explore your own path of renewal, I’d love for you to join me there.
This New Moon is the perfect time to reflect:
• Where are you building your “home” on someone else’s land — whether in your identity, beliefs, or energy?
• What would it mean to clear the soil and start fresh, rooting into your own truth?
If you’re feeling called to shed what isn’t yours and reclaim your energetic foundation, my Aetheric Renewal Sessions are here to support you. Together, we’ll energetically untangle what isn’t yours and reconnect with what is.
Thanks so much for reading, you are loved!
Sending love and blessings for the new moon and lunar new year,
